I'm a versatile communicator who thrives on creative problem solving. For each visual challenge I face, I draw on my experience as a writer and editor, graphic designer, and photographer. My background helps me see how text and imagery can work together to create a project that is clear, eye-catching and compels the viewer to action.
Writing came first for me and was the mainstay of my career for several years. Today, those skills help me analyze and organize information, no matter the project. Design and photography were always passions, and I was inspired by working alongside top designers and photographers at a firm where I served as a writer and project manager. Self-taught in both design and photography, I am always pushing myself to learn more and take on new challenges.
My design work has covered a range of projects, from booklets to branding and from advertising to interpretive signage for clients including destination marketing organizations, economic development departments, nonprofits, and commercial businesses.
When I pick up a camera (or two), I'm often shooting products, environmental portraits, headshots, and employees at work for commercial clients. I also love to capture the natural beauty that abounds here on Maryland's Eastern Shore with photos of the landscapes and waterscapes. (See more of that work at Secrets of the Eastern Shore, the venture my husband and I started to share stories and scenes of the region and its culture.)
I'm an "almost Marylander." While I spent the first 17 years of my life in New Jersey, Maryland has now been my home for most of my life; first in Baltimore City and now in the small waterfront town of Cambridge.
